KAYAK SYDNEY

Book your tour to Goat Island
Learn to Paddle
Where is the best place to kayak in Sydney?   There are lots of great places to kayak in Sydney but the most exciting and rewarding place has to be right out front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Paddle Pirates is located at 123 Ferry Rd. Glebe NSW 2037. It takes about 20 minutes to kayak to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Is it safe to kayak in Sydney? It is if you know what you're doing! Our tours are led by an expert guide and we have a safe route out of the way of ferries and power boats.
What kind of kayaks do you use? We are real sea kayakers and only use high end composite double or single kayaks. Our kayaks are proper expedition sea kayaks fitted with comfortable seats. We can also provide Surf Ski's if you have experience with these craft. If not, book a session with a fully qualified instructor and get into Surf Ski paddling on Sydney Harbour!
How long are the tours? We meet at 9AM and are back by around 1.30PM. We spend about 45minutes having a break and exploring the Magnificent Goat Island.
The Surf Ski sessions are one hour.
Where is Goat Island? It is smack bang in the middle of Sydney Harbour directly in front of The Sydney Harbour Bridge
Isn't Goat Island restricted? Yes it is but Paddle Pirates has a permit to land our kayaks and conduct a guided tour on the island. Your National Parks visitor permit is included with your booking.
Is it hard? Kayaking is a physical activity and the harbour can be a little busy, especially on a Sunday. You might feel a bit tired if you don't do a lot of exercise but you'll finish off very satisfied.
Do you provide food? No (unless the figs, blackberries or lilli pillis are in fruit ion the island in which case you pick your own!) There are scores of great restaurants, cafes and pubs next to our finish at Glebe and the famous Sydney Fish Market is only a 5 minute walk away. To complete the maritime experience we highly recommend going to PEG LEG for a great lunch and well earned Ale after your Sydney Harbour Kayaking Adventure.
How can I get to Blackwattle Bay? There are buses to Glebe Point Road, you can catch the light rail to Glebe, or if you're staying in the city it's only about a 30 minute walk from the city centre.
What should I wear? Wear sports type clothes and avoid cotton. Bring old shoes that can get wet.
Do you have change rooms? Yes. We have seperate male and female change rooms with hot showers available.
Can I leave my luggage? Yes - there is plenty of room in our boatshed for you to leave your things safely while we go paddling.
Do you take photos? Most definitely. Your guide will get professional grade photos of you in your kayak framed by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A Google Drive folder will be shared with you sometime during the afternoon after your tour. Photos are completely free and included as part of the service.
Will we see any wildlife? You bet. We have seen seals, penguins, cormorants, darters and white bellied sea eagles on the tour. Sometimes my dog Colo comes along with us as well!
How much is it? Our Sydney Kayak Tours are $100 per person all inclusive. The one hour One on One Training Sessions are $50 and if you're into fitness you can join our Group Kayak Fitness Paddle for only $40 (not suitable for beginners) If you're a regular then its only $30 per session if you buy a 10 pack

See you on the water!
